James Payne M.D.

James Payne, M.D. 

Dr. Payne was born in Florida and grew up in Midland, Michigan. He graduated summa cum laude from Saginaw Valley State University in 2012 with a degree in biology. In 2016 he graduated from Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine located in Rochester, MI and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society for high academic achievement and leadership in medicine. He completed his urology residency at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in 2021. Dr.


Payne practices general urology with specialized training in minimally invasive surgery including robotic, endoscopic, and percutaneous surgery. He has particular interest in kidney stones, BPH and urologic oncology. 


On a personal note, Dr. Payne is an exercise enthusiast and enjoys competing in triathlons and playing in the local soccer league. He also enjoys hiking, traveling, and reading science fiction. He lives in Murfreesboro with his wife and children.
